Confidentiality is not a feature Silex added. It is the foundation Silex is built on, which is what makes it usable from the solo office to the regulated institution. ## Confidentiality, Security and Data Handling

* **Professional secrecy**: Built to meet Art. 321 SCC (Swiss Criminal Code) from day one.

* **Hosting**: All client data and backups are stored on Infomaniak, Geneva, a 100% Swiss-owned sovereign cloud. Azure Zurich (CH Nord) is used for compute only, with zero client data on Azure.

* **No training**: Queries and documents are never used to train Silex or any third-party model. User conversations are never used to train or fine-tune AI models.

* **Encryption**: AES-256 at rest. HTTPS with TLS 1.2/1.3 in transit; plaintext communication is not permitted at any layer. Uploaded files are encrypted at the application layer before upload. Encryption keys are held in an isolated vault that only Silex can open.

* **Isolation**: Each organisation gets its own isolated RAG silo, a dedicated table per organisation, never mixed.

* **Backups**: Encrypted backups (AES-256-CBC) kept 14 days, with point-in-time recovery.

* **Incognito mode**: Runs requests that store nothing in the database, backups or logs.

* **Deletion**: Any question, or a whole profile, can be deleted on demand. Deletions leave the live database immediately and age out of encrypted backups within 14 days.

* **Silo permissions**: Each user only accesses documents in Silex that they are already authorised to view.
