Banque Cantonale de Genève selects Silex to strengthen legal research and knowledge across its organisation

18 June 2026 — Geneva / Lausanne, Switzerland — Silex, the Swiss AI platform for legal research and productivity, today announced that Banque Cantonale de Genève ("BCGE") has selected and deployed Silex through an enterprise licence across several internal teams.

Founded in 1816, BCGE is one of Switzerland’s leading cantonal banks and plays an important role in supporting the economic development of Geneva and its region. As a universal and commercial bank, BCGE offers a broad range of services to individuals, companies, public bodies and institutions, including day-to-day banking, private banking, asset management, pension planning, financing, trading, corporate finance and global commodity finance.

The selection of Silex reflects BCGE’s continued focus on combining institutional trust, operational rigour and selective innovation in areas that can strengthen the quality, efficiency and reliability of legal, regulatory and knowledge-intensive work.

Silex is built specifically for professional legal research. Unlike generic AI tools, the platform combines structured legal data, purpose-built AI infrastructure and source-grounded workflows designed for legal reasoning, traceability and professional confidentiality. Silex currently indexes more than 800,000 Swiss and international legal sources and is used by more than 700 organisations, including law firms, notary offices, tax advisory firms and corporate legal departments.

For financial institutions and other regulated organisations, Silex provides access to authoritative Swiss legal sources, including federal and cantonal law, case law, soft law and doctrine. The platform also includes regulatory materials such as FINMA circulars, which can be selected as part of the research scope for relevant matters.

Deployment following validation
BCGE has adopted Silex’s platform under an enterprise license, granting professional users across the organization access to advanced legal research and knowledge workflows. The adoption follows a validation process focused not only on functionality, but also on the specific requirements of a regulated Swiss financial institution: source reliability, traceability, confidentiality, security architecture, data protection and alignment with internal governance standards.

Built for regulated legal environments
Silex’s architecture has been designed for Swiss professional legal environments, with data hosted and processed exclusively in Switzerland, end-to-end encryption, GDPR and nFADP compliance, and safeguards to protect professional secrecy. Under Silex’s security model, client data remains permanently under the BCGE’s control and is not accessed by Silex. Client data and documents are therefore never used to train AI models.

The selection of Silex by BCGE forms part of a broader trend among banks, insurers and other regulated organisations seeking legal AI systems that combine productivity gains with Swiss standards of confidentiality, data protection and regulatory reliability.

Kyriaki Bongard, Co-Founder & CEO at Silex, added: “BCGE is precisely the kind of institution for which specialised legal AI infrastructure matters. Financial institutions operate in an environment where legal and regulatory complexity is high, and where trust, confidentiality and traceability are non-negotiable. Generic AI tools were not built for this context. Silex was designed to give legal, compliance and knowledge professionals access to structured Swiss legal sources, source-grounded answers and a security model aligned with the requirements of regulated organisations. We are proud to support BCGE as it explores how AI can strengthen legal research and internal knowledge workflows.”

A foundation for trusted legal AI
Silex clients report reducing time spent on legal research by up to 94%, while also streamlining access to legal sources and reducing reliance on multiple legal database subscriptions.
The current enterprise licence gives selected BCGE users access to Silex as part of the bank’s continued exploration of secure, professional-grade AI tools for legal and regulatory work.
